My son will be 23 in January. 23 years ago there were few options for a stress free birth. You went to the hospital….. MAYBE had an epidural… and that was it…….. no Lamaze in my small town, no midwives or water births… I did read a book while I was pregnant tho about self hypnosis changing my life…… it did… my only self suggestion was that I could manage to maneuvre labour and delivery, I would be positive, I would NOT make a fuss I would not feel excruciating pain. I didn’t. My son was 10 lbs 8 ounces….. and I alwayas joke that he pushed himself out because…… labour was no worse then a menstrual cramp…. something my generation was not allowed to acknowledge in anyway. Hypnosis works.. never under estimate the power of the mind.
